100 Women Who Care FSJ Raise $31,100 For Local Community Service Organization

For those that attended the September 26 meeting of 100 Women Who Care Fort St. John, it was an incredible evening filled with excitement and generosity. With nearly 200 women in attendance, far surpassing expectations, the donation amount for the chosen charity was higher than anticipated.

The exciting course of events in regard to the three charities that presented their causes for consideration firstly saw Saplings Mental Health Services receive exceptional support from the women of Fort St. John, winning the majority vote and being rewarded with a $31,100 donation. This amount will undoubtedly make a significant difference in their efforts to support mental health in our community.

The other two participating charities, The Fort St. John Arts Council and Community Bridge. each provided valuable insight into their work and the impact their organizations have on the members of our community. Those in attendance appreciated the opportunity to learn more about their causes and are grateful for their continued efforts.

In addition to the overwhelming support received, there was a delightful surprise. Talese from Tourmaline Oil Corp surprised everyone in the room, including the 100 Women Who Care steering committee, by matching the first $10,000 donated for a second time. This unexpected act of generosity further exemplifies the power of individuals coming together to create positive change in our community. The organization committee extends their heartfelt gratitude to Talese and Tourmaline Oil Corp for their incredible support.
