A New Roof, A Stronger Community: NPCF Awards $40,250 Grant to Fort St. John Senior’s Hall

The Fort St. John Senior’s Hall has long been a beloved gathering place for our City and region’s seniors, a space for connection, programs, and support. Thanks to a $40,250 grant from the North Peace Community Foundation, the Hall now has nearly a brand-new roof, ensuring the hall remains safe and welcoming for years to come.

The grant, announced this July, closes the funding gap in the urgent roof repair project. What makes this grant even more special is that it was made possible through both the North Peace Savings & Credit Union Legacy Fund and the BC Prosperity Fund, a powerful example of local and provincial resources coming together for community impact.

“The Senior’s Hall is more than a building; it’s a hub of connection for seniors from within in our community and region,” says Tracey Wolsey, Chair of the North Peace Community Foundation. “We are thrilled to help secure it’s future”.

The Fort St. John Senior’s Association, who operates the Hall, had already raised a significant portion of the funds, but needed help bridging the final financial hurdle.

“This support from the Foundation is truly a gift,” said Deb Vandal, Secretary of the Association. “We’re deeply grateful to everyone who contributed to help make this repair possible".”

At NPCF, we believe strong communities are built by supporting the places that bring people together. We’re proud to invest in local infrastructure that enhances quality of life, especially for those who have helped to build our region.
