Rural Minds Matter

With this week’s concentrated focus on Mental Health Awareness, the North Peace Community Foundation is happy to support and share an upcoming initiative in our community which focuses on leading together for resilience. Stigma-Free Mental Health Society in partnership with AgLife and AgSafe BC will be hosting a townhall event in Fort St. John on Thursday, May 15 at the Northern LIghts College Atrium. This event is free to attend, but registration is required. We hope you can come out to join the hosts and some local panelists for a vital evening of communication, engagement, and community connection. Building upon SFMHS’s successful Rural Peer Fundamentals Training program, this evening of connection will help attract, connect, train and sustain peer supporters over time. If you can’t make it to the townhall, please be sure to check out the Rural Mental Wellness Toolkit. It’s an abundant resource for education and information on rural mental wellness. Register today!
